Fort Madison, Iowa - Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival’s debut single “Not Going Back Down There” was released on June 25, 2021. This song was recorded for the upcoming debut album “Greendirt Experience”. It introduces you to Jonas Woodstock and his one man band, playing a sound and style he describes as Appalachian Greendirt Folk Rock n Soul music. The foundation of his music has its roots in early folk, 50’s rock and roll, country, blues and bluegrass. The songs will showcase his deeply influenced beatnik poetry songwriting.
“Not Going Back Down There” is almost a simply worded gospel song. It’s about a lost romantic that is in search of truth and love. He is asking for guidance to move on, so he won't have to return to a dark evil place. A place that he’s seen before that holds no future for him.
This will be the first song released from the “Greendirt Experience” album. There will be two more singles and two Ep’s released throughout the summer to help generate interest before the album release in August.
Jonas Woodstock is a beatnik Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist from the big river city of Fort Madison Iowa. He is known for his captivating one man band performances as "Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival"
