Greendirt Rail Rider EP scheduled for July Release

By Emahjenation Entertainment

Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival set to release  the first EP “Greendirt Rail Rider” from the debut album ‘Greendirt Experience’

Fort Madison, Iowa -  Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival’s debut EP “Greendirt Rail Rider” is set for release on July 9,2021.  The EP will include four original song titles. There are three tracks that will be on the upcoming debut album “Greendirt Experience” that is set to release later in the summer. There is one that will be featured on a later album. This song gives the listener a glimpse of what is to come. The EP will  introduce you to Jonas Woodstock and his one man band playing a sound and style he describes as Appalachian Greendirt Folk Rock n Soul music..

There are two songs on the EP that were taken from his many years traveling the country as a train hopping busker. “Greendirt Train Tune” has a upbeat fast paced bluegrass style to it and “Ridin That Number 9” has that up and down sway style of a train and both are direct looks into the beatnik hobo lifestyle. The song “Every now And Again” speaks about how life can continue to knock you down but you must keep getting up if you want to reach your goal, even if the goal itself may be flawed. The final song “Animal Inside” is a down and out rustic grimmy sound, with lyrics of a wild outlaw look on living life to the fullest and leaving nothing behind, not even sleep itself.

Jonas Woodstock is a beatnik Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist from the big river city of Fort Madison Iowa. He is known for his captivating one man band performances as "Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival"  His music has its roots in folk, early 50's and psychedelic rock infused with touches of early country, blues and bluegrass.  Structured freed songs and deep poetry based lyrics are all influenced by the beatnik, folk, and stoic movements. His performances make for a colorful, fun loving, foot stomping atmosphere that is full of raw emotion and artistry. ---No show is ever the same--

The new single “Not Going Back Down There” release

By Emahjenation Entertainment

Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival just released the first single ‘Not Going Back Down There’ from the debut album ‘Greendirt Experience’.

Fort Madison, Iowa -    Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival’s debut single “Not Going Back Down There” was released on June 25, 2021. This song was recorded for the upcoming debut album “Greendirt Experience”. It introduces you to Jonas Woodstock and his one man band, playing a sound and style he describes as Appalachian Greendirt Folk Rock n Soul music. The foundation of his music has its roots in early folk, 50’s rock and roll, country, blues and bluegrass. The songs will showcase his deeply influenced beatnik poetry songwriting.

“Not Going Back Down There” is almost a simply worded gospel song. It’s about a lost romantic that is in search of truth and love. He is asking for guidance to move on, so he won't have to return to a dark evil place. A place that he’s seen before that holds no future for him.

This will be the first song released from the “Greendirt Experience” album. There will be two more singles and two Ep’s released throughout the summer to help generate interest before the album release in August.

Spring Football Schedule Announced

Spring Football!?!

By Dude Thomas

Well, it looks like there will be a spring football season after all, as the NCAA has posted the schedules.

With the pandemic last year, FCS collages and universities canceled their fall football schedules. Many opted to wait and play in the spring if proper guidelines and planning were implemented. That meant that Emahjenation Entertainment had to postpone their fall Bison Tailgate Tour.

Each year, Emahjenation Entertainment and Emahjenation Trading Post sponsor the Bison Tailgate Tour, a live music event for the the fans and parents of the football players that have made the long trip to the game. NDSU always has a large number of traveling fans.

Both Emahjenation Entertainment and Emahjenation Trading Posts owners are big fans and proud supporters of North Dakota State University. If there are no conflicting shows, they will go to some of the away games and set up a tailgating live music show. Emahjenation Entertainment will also try to schedule additional shows in or around those communities for the locals.

This year they have scheduled to be at the Southern Illinois University game on February 27th, in Carbondale Illinois, the Missouri State University game on March 6th in Springfield Missouri, the University of South Dakota game on March 27th in Vermillion South Dakota, and also the University of Northern Iowa game on April 10th in Cedar Falls Iowa.

With the current guidelines and different regulation in each State, Emahjenation Entertainment is keeping a close eye on any development that would put the musicians or any fans at risk. They may have to cancel at any time to respect the safety of others.

Emahjenation Entertainment will confirm the tailgate performance early the week of each currently scheduled game.

January Newsletter : New Year Outlook

By Emahjenation Entertainment

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and we wish you a happy new year. We want to share a big thank you to everyone who helped support Emahjenation Entertainment and Jonas Woodstock Music last year. We are always thankful to have any opportunity to share the music and our journey with you.

This past year came with it’s challenges and we had our share of hardships. We are excited as we look forward to the new year. We are staying updated on the current restrictions regarding the pandemic. Ten months after the pandemic shutdown many venues remain closed while those that are open are under severe Covid-19 restrictions. We are hopeful that in the coming months we can see a return to the stage.

Jonas Woodstock will be in the recording studio over the next two months as he finishes up all the tracks for the new album. We are currently planning our schedule of releases for the Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival Singles, Ep’s, and Greendirt Experience album. We are also working on dates for the Greendirt Experience Tour. As a bonus this year, Jonas Woodstock will have a solo acoustic album released. The album will feature a few acoustic versions of tracks from the ‘Greendirt Experience’ album.

There will be many new and exciting things occurring this year. Emahjenation Trading Post will have all new merchandise coming throughout the year along with some new promotional products. There will be new music videos released with the addition of some livestreams. There is a livestream at the end of January. YPPA Studios Presents: Cabin Fever Livestream will be held on the 30th at 7pm. The website will be adding more content this year. We will also be publishing songbooks, poetry, and other related content.

We look forward to a productive and successful year and making some new friendships at the shows.

Newsletter : Album and Tour Update

By Emahjenation Entertainment

The lockdown of bars and music venues has financially impacted these businesses and the livelihood of musical performers. Due to the delay in the full opening of bars and music venues, we have been forced to cancel this year's album release and associated multistate tour. We will be working with venues to establish new performance dates as they return to a business level that will justify the hiring of musical artists. Hopefully, some dates later in the year may be maintained and/or new ones will be established as soon as the venues fully open.

As the quarantine is further lifted in our state, we will be back in the studio to record and will have a finished album sometime by the end of the year. There will be some new music coming out over the next few months on social media platforms. Stay tuned for updates throughout the fall and winter.

The support of local artisans is critical at this difficult time. You can make a purchase of hand made tie-dye shirts, necklaces, bracelets, ankle bracelets, and key chains in the MERCH section of this web site. There is also a donation button to provide a tip to Jonas Woodstock as you watch his weekly podcasts or as a gratuity.

During last summer, Jonas Woodstock met Sid Summerson at an Iowa festival. Jonas liked Sid’s sound work that he was doing for other artists at smaller venues and had discussed music at lenghth. He later hired Sid to run his sound for a performance at The Hangover Tap in Hanover, Illinois. Both were pleased with the evening and agreed to proceed later with music recordings together.

This winter Jonas Woodstock went into the recording studio to record his first professionally recorded album as his one man band act the “Gypsy Hippie Hillbilly Dudes Roadside Revival”. Working with Sid Summerson, from Viral Studios, the album is scheduled for May release.

Viral Studios is a mobile recording operation based in Wapello, Iowa. Viral Studios was established in 2018 with Mr. Summerson as the owner and recording engineer. Viral studios has worked with the bands “Never Knows Best”, “The Good Catch”, and “Obey the Virus”. Viral Studios has recorded two number one singles in the local top twenty. One of the singles reached number one the first week of release.
